DREAMORDER

Facing the issue of dead stock, which troubles the apparel industry.

COMITAS Co., Ltd. is the group company that develops the fashion brand “junhashimoto,” and this company was searching for a method to deal with the way inventory piles up, which is an issue for the entire apparel industry. Inventory is purchased six months before actual sales at manufacturer exhibitions and special meetings for ordering, but it is difficult to predict which of the many products will sell and how many will be needed, and if the inventory is not sold, it becomes dead inventory. It is not possible to get rid of all of the inventory through sales only, and managing and dealing with the surplus costs money. Thus, a system was created due to the realization that the apparel industry will not improve until this problem is solved, and that system is the EC site “DREAM ORDER,” which sells products using crowd funding.

A dream-like system that pleases manufactures, factories and users.

We developed the EC site “DREAM ORDER,” which makes use of crowd funding. The system is set up so that companies show images of product samples and collect orders from users. Once the orders exceed a set number, that particular number of products get produced. It is entirely an order based system. All the manufacturer need to pay for is the cost of the sample, and this eliminates the need to hold useless inventory. In addition, this allows for items to be sold that previously could not have been commercialized due to high costs, so it is possible to make a profit from drop samples, which had previously been a wasted cost. Also, it is possible for users to purchase products 10~20% cheaper than usual because the inventory risk is not converted to products, and it is possible to purchase limited products that are not on the market. Moreover, this system can be used for any product or service, not just the apparel industry.

[Example of use in the apparel industry]

You want to include a lady’s item in a men’s brand.
You can ask female users, “What do you think about this item?” And it is possible to commence production after checking the actual reactions.

[Example of use in other industries]

A celebrity or athlete wants to sell goods to fans.
They can use the system by asking, “I’m thinking about making this. What do you think?” And then make the goods after seeing the reaction.
